our English experience - Bronte Parsonage

We had been planning this for a while and finally tonight, we would be flying off to England. C was so excited that the moment she woke up she was asking if it was time to go to the Airport. Then after, it was like every half an hour before she made the same request.

This was like our final briefing before all of us headed in.

Once inside, C did the usual: playing at the playground and then we went for some coffee as we waited for the gates to open. C asked to do the Math homework I had printed for her. She remembered that Ms Novelle told her to revise her work.

Then at mid night, we boarded our plane.C received a gift back from Emirates and she was grinning from ear to ear because there was a colouring and activity book with crayons, then there was even a story book of the Cat in the Hat, and there were too stuffed animals too. Oh, yes, and that eye shade you see. She used it to cover her eyes when she slept.
Late night supper we had on board the flight.

and 7 hours later, we were in Dubai where we spent about 2 hours before we boarded another plane out to Manchester.

This time round, C was all charged up having slept for most of the first flight. She was watching a lot of cartoons and playing some of the games on board too.

More food!

It was close to mid day when we arrived at Manchester Airport and we were ushered up a coach where we headed out to Haworth West Yorkshire to the Bronte Parsonage.
This was the lovely sight that greeted us along the way. In fact, there were many horses, cows and sheep grazing in the fields.

This is the town where the Bronte sisters were born.

We had to walk up this road to reach the Parsonage. It was all shady with the densely growth of trees.

And then we had to get by the cemetery.  Patrick Bronte, the sisters' father was ordained into the Church of England in 1807 and the church he preached in was within walking distance to their home. But in the church yard, he conducted numerous burials for the folks who had passed on.
The school which the sisters taught in, but the school somehow never quite took off.
The Bronte Parsonage. No pictures were allowed inside. :( but the rooms were tiny.

The church that Patrick Bronte preached in.

The Bronte Parsonage in the background. What greeted the Sisters would have been this graveyard at the front when they looked out of their window. It wouldn't take one long to realise that such a sight would not have been a pleasant thing. The entire area was dark and gloomy and such atmosphere was translated into many of the writings of the Bronte sisters.

We retired for the night after we had our dinner.
