Saturday was a big day! It was important because it was Polling Day and we had to exercise our rights as citizens of Singapore and cast our sacred vote. And because it was Polling Day, C's art lesson was cancelled so we literally had the day off! :)

After we had cast our vote, we headed down to East Coast Park to enjoy the rest of the morning. Actually it was because we learned that Uncle Ben, Aunt Di, Asher, Grand Mummy and Aunt Jules would be there too. Haha.. Well, we didn't manage to catch them there but...

We spotted this very interesting and innovative bicycle! Hmmm.... I don't know the "proper" name to this vehicle. There is a larger one which can comfortably sit all 6 of us with Asher and Cheryl upfront. haha! Daddy commented that we should all come down to ECP to have another round of cycling. This ride we rented set us back $30 per hour which wasn't exactly cheap but  for the fun of it, why not?

We rode around and then went to a place somewhat forgotten...

Yes, the Road Safety Park. Back in the 1980s, this park was used to teach young students road safety rules and allowing us to be pedestrians, cyclists or motorists.

Daddy and C went around and she was taught that she needed to signal right when she wanted to turn right and how she had to come to a halt when she came to a junction.

Then it was my turn with C. This "bicycle" was difficult to manage especially when only one driver gets to control the steering wheel. She definitely had a lot of fun role-playing! :)
Daddy and I then giggled to ourselves because... yeah, we were already planning for something. 

When Aunt Angie asked us to join her for a car-ride in the evening, I had no idea we would be signing up for this!

It was the entire fleet of motorised cars, jeep, motorcycles, bicycles and even a Harley Davidson!

C had her eyes set on a modest bicycle and preferred to ride that over the other more fanciful rides. I managed to capture some shots of the children in action.

The Daddies were kept busy as they had to constantly keep an eye on the little ones as they rode off. Their rides were attracting so much attention that many people around thought the Daddies were running a kiddy ride business and some children were even trying to queue for their turns on the cars.

It was a fine day and we went to the beach.

Then C got hold of the camera and exclaimed, "Daddy and Mummy, I want to take a picture of you."

Then after she captured the shot, she put the camera down, frowned a little and said, "Mummy, please remove your glasses."

There after, we adjourned for breakfast at C's favourite joint.

C and Daddy, enjoying their food and then... our day was cut-short abruptly when Daddy received a call. He had to return to camp. Argh!

C quickly finished her breakfast and headed out to the playground where she had some fun and before Daddy came out and hustled us back home.

Daddy was packing and getting ready to go off to camp and C couldn't help herself. Of course, Daddy let her try on his helmet and all and we had a good laugh.

Daddy had to make several calls to people to inform them that they had to go back to camp as well. Unfortunately, these people on the list that he was given, some of their contact numbers were out-dated and no longer in use, some gave their telephone numbers to their office at work. Go figure! I asked Daddy if such exercises had ever been held during the weekdays and he said no so for this particular person, Daddy would have to make a house-call later to personally inform that chap that he had to return to camp.

Yet, there were others who picked up the call but were exceptionally rude and told Daddy, "I am an officer, you know?!" Huh? You mean, such recall manning exercises are meant for small, unimportant and insignificant people ah?

Aunt Angie and several of her pals thought it would be a wonderful idea to spend some time at the beach and so when she extended the invitation to us, I kind of jumped at the chance to go along as it has been quite a while since we last went to the beach and C had been pestering us to bring her. Besides, she hasn't met up with Aunt Angie and the other 2 girls too.

So, we prepared some food and along with our floor mats, we headed off to the beach in the late afternoon. We gave all the other activities a miss and reserved a very good spot for ourselves 2 hours before the movie started.

I came so unprepared (without a change of clothes for C) but she didn't mind that she had sand in her hair, shirt, ears, ... you get the picture.

Cheryl and Daddy caught sight of some planes in the skies as they were having rehearsals for the upcoming National Day Parade.

This Labour Day break came timely because Daddy and I have been working really hard and we were looking forward to spending some time with our friends who had been just as busy. We wanted to do something outdoors so naturally we headed for East Coast Park where we did some cycling.

We were laughing along the way and the kids were just as happy.

This weekend is the big Move for Daddy's company and he went back to his office at 7 am. It's almost 11 pm and yet he has not returned.

So it was just Cheryl and me today.

We left the house at 10 am and we didn't have to rush at all. We even had some time to walk around and sit at McDonald's before we headed up to Seimpi for music class. C loves the music class and she is always asking me if it is Saturday so that she can go for music class. As usual, she was all ready.

The children sang and danced around at the start of the class and then they tried their hands on some musical instruments.

C did a much better job at playing on the keyboard today and I was rather pleased with her. At least she has shown improvement and she was able to recognise the different notes. The songs are getting a little more complicated but as long as the notes stayed with the right hand, I can coach C. The session today saw the children being exposed to the base cleft and I guess, I will have to pay as much attention as C or more so that I would not be lost.

After the class, we went for our lunch at Hans. Cheryl was not in the mood to go home yet so she requested that we went shopping instead. I indulged her because I didn't have time to spend with her last night; had to work late, so we went shopping at Parkway Parade.

We spent an hour walking around and she decided that she was tired and wanted to go home. C was already fast asleep when we got back and although I had wanted to do some work, I couldn't as I fell fast asleep too.

At 5pm, C woke me up and told me that she wanted to go to the Playground @ Big Splash. Oh yes, I had told her earlier in the day that I would bring her down to the beach so we didn't waste time getting ready and left quickly.

C definitely loved the beach and she was very excited and was running and skipping along the way.

She even took a picture of me.

We took a stroll down the beach to where the Carnival was at. By the time we were there, most of the activities planned for the day were over but there were still a lot of people there. The place was very nicely renovated and except for the tower, nothing from the former Big Splash was recognisable.

There are many eateries there and we had our dinner at KFC; C's newfound love is chicken! Thankfully, she didn't insist on having rice else it would be a long walk back; at least 20 minutes.

C found her "hamster cage" and she wanted to go in to play. I told her that we would come with Zinnia and Yeva the next time.

We even managed to catch some very nice fireworks there as it was afterall the Grand Opening of the place. C had her fingers in her ears because of the deafening blasts but she enjoyed the firework display.

Then the both of us walked back to McDonald's. C was happily singing, dancing, skipping and running along the tracks. Both of us even had a race to see who would reach the destination first. For some parts of the journey, yes she wanted me to carry her but she was pretty cooperative and did some walking too.

C played on some kiddie machines too and she didn't want to come back although she was starting to yawn.



All that running around must have drained her out because she was asleep in 10 minutes. I am just glad that we had a great time!
