I decided that I was going to try this home remedy for frizzy hair.

Avocado and eggs.

If you have avocados that you had bought a long time ago and they have kind of turned dark green and black, instead of throwing them out because they look too disgusting to be eaten, you may want to consider using them for your hair.

Instructions:

1) Cut the avocado into half, scoop out the flesh into a bowl.

2) Mash the flesh into a paste.

3) Crack an egg into the paste.

4) Mix it well.

The mixture should look like this in the end.

5) Make sure you give your hair a good wash first.

6) Apply the mixture on your hair.

7) Wait out the 15-minutes required time.

I washed the entire toilet while letting the mixture sit in my hair. As for C, she was seated on a stool in the toilet, humming, singing to herself and ever so occasionally, chatting to me about her day.

8) Finally rinse out the mixture. You do not have to use shampoo on your hair while washing. Do remember to use cold water or risk cooking the egg white in your hair. 

Clean out the bath room too as there will be bits of avocado left on the floor. 

You may not see the results immediately after the wash. In fact, I was a little sceptical because I felt it took more effort to comb my hair after the wash but this is how my hair is this morning:

:) no frizz! My hair feels light and soft. Cheryl commented that her hair was softer than usual too. I will do a follow-up with this treatment again in 2 weeks. 

That's what Daddy calls it anyways... .

C's top frontal teeth have been shaky since December last year and I even brought her to the dentist once to have them extracted. But the dentist sent us back after inspecting her teeth and assured us that they would drop naturally and all C had to do was to "play" with her teeth more often and chew on hard food like apples  more.

C came running to me after she got back from her class and showed me this. Daddy said she accidentally hit herself on the lips while doing her gangnam-style dance and almost needed no effort to pluck the tooth off thereafter. 

And so C officially enters the "Ugly Duckling" phase. 

It has always been Mummy's territory when it comes to hair-tying but this morning, Daddy did his first bun for Precious.

You see, C has started on her extra coaching class for ballet. Ms Blue emphasized that because C would need to execute certain moves sharply, it was important that her hair did not get in the way. Hence, the need for the bun. On Monday evenings, I would be able to do her hair but it was Tuesday mornings that Daddy was worried about. 

When he learned that C needed her hair up in this manner, he was stressed out. To help him out, we bought some hair clips. Now, Daddy is the one who ties C's hair every morning before she goes to school but with C's ballet class on Tuesday mornings, her hairdo will have to stay on and neat from 9am to 6.30pm. 

Daddy had a practice round on Sunday and this morning, he did it! Pretty good, I would say, for a first-timer. 

We started on this some time back but we did not do this religiously.



But as C has many outdoor activities, I thought we should ensure that she has her sun block on. I have a problem with freckles and though when I was younger and thought freckles were kind of cute, these stubborn brown specks sure aren't that enduring when I was much older.

The lip balm- savior for all cracked lips and we reckon it's good to start using them now that C has developed this bad habit of touching her dry lips ever so often.

As for the moisturizer, once I noticed that C's face was very dry and even felt rough to the touch. A few application of the lotion and :) .

Good skin care practice should start from young. :)

C has been asking me to get her shoes with laces because she said that her teachers had been teaching her to tie them. We have gone hunting for nice shoes but our attempts were futile. 

So I decided to shop online and then found these:

Needless to say, C was all smiles when she opened the box. She proudly exclaimed that she would wear them to school tomorrow. :)

It was either to sweat out under the hot sun, or work my fingers indoor. Well, I wasn't prepared with my track shoes or had the clothes to change into for games so I signed myself up for some handicraft workshop.

This was the first time I handled such tiny beads.

Luckily, my eye sight did not fail me (yet) and I was able to string the bracelet together though it took me an hour and half.  :)

When I got back, I told Precious of my little gift for her and she was really excited. 

What fitted me as a bracelet turned out a little too loose for C's wrist so we had it around her ankle instead. :) Yes, she loved it! I picked the colours because it would go very well with her sari!

This is a gift from Aunt Sonali, Radikah's Mummy. She is so sweet and she never fails to get something for our Precious every time she returns to India.

Our Princess has a new dress for this year's Racial Harmony Day! :)

I bought C a pretty pair of ear rings today!

She was grinning from ear to ear when she saw them and instructed me to put them on for her.

The ear rings are a little too big for her small ears so I am looking at getting her another pair. 

I bought this outfit for C a long time ago.

This evening, I thought she could try it on and pose for some shots. :)

 

Still a little too big for her petite size. But she was clearly enjoying the dress and the attention I was giving her.

It was dark in the room. Well, with the curtains drawn, even though it's only 6 in the evening, the room can be rather dim.

I walked over to turn on the reading lamp and was about to walk away when I thought I saw something in the rubbish bin. Upon closer inspection, my heart stopped for a minute and then I screamed out for C to come into the room.

She had told me earlier that she cut her hair and I thought she said she wanted to have her hair trimmed so I casually commented that Grand Mummy could do it this Sunday.

Mummy : Cheryl, did you cut your hair?
Cheryl : Yes, Mummy. I told you I cut my hair just now.
Mummy : Yeah, I thought you said you WANTED to get a hair cut. That's quite a lot of hair you snipped.
Cheryl : But hair grows, Mummy.

Now she made me sound silly. Of course I know hair grows but that's not the point!

Mummy : Please don't do this again. You will look ugly if you cut off too much of your hair.
Cheryl : Okay, Mummy. But hair grows.

Vain as she is, C doesn't seem at all bothered with what she did.

C's best friend, Radhika, hails from India and Radhika's mummy is a really sweet lady who is always on the look out for both our girls.

During the June holidays, they returned to India and she came back with this pretty dress for our Princess.

C loved the dress!

Then she broke out into dance which resembled an indian dance. I was surprised that she knew what to do with her legs and how to place her hands.

So inaccurate! Hahahahaha!

Aunt Margaret said she would do another one. I will post the picture when it's done.

C's got a new bag for the new school term.

Sometimes, I wonder what she does with her things in school because it wasn't that long ago that I bought her the old one and yet, she managed to wear it out in just 10 weeks. Hahaha!

But I am glad that she liked it.

Our Princess fell in love with this pair of shoes! Actually, so did I! :)

I have always preferred that C wears sandals to slippers so I am forever looking out for pretty little things like these. We wanted to take the blue pair initially but decided against it as it would be difficult to match with her clothes.

But white isn't a friendly colour too because our Princess can be such a tom boy at times and her footwear is hardly ever spot clean. Yet, C preferred this so there. :)

Daddy Dearest, we have another millipede.

I bought this really cool bag for Cheryl and the really nice gesture was, I could have her name embroidered on the bag. She was really happy to see the package and immediately said that she would carry it to school.

I am just glad that she loves it! :)

I have been running and scouting around for this pair of Adidas for C.

I used to get her white ones but kids being kids, white shoes don't stay white very long. In fact C's record was barely 5 days. The pair of Fila she wore to Hong Kong only lasted half a day and by the end of the day, one could have easily mistaken her brand new shoes for something she has been wearing for months.

So I have learnt my lesson and decided to get her something more "durable". She wore out her current pair of Adidas in 6 months. I really wonder if she did that much walking. Ha ha!

Okay, I digressed.

This one that I have set my eyes on... well, they are out of stocks! And I have called several outlets and were given the same reply, "We don't have stocks." So there. Guess, I have to start to look for others. :(

Cheryl came running to me, holding her story book and exclaiming, "Mummy, you need to get me this dress. I also want the gloves."

Hmm... I know my girl is quite a princess in her own right but still, I didn't expect her to be such a hard-core. hahaha!

I replied, "But what occasion do you have to don this dress?" To which she said, "Err... weddings lah!" oh... I was thinking more along the lines of Halloween. Hee.

I had to run a little errand and thought it would be nice to take C along. It has been a while since she last went out with me.

We were at Harbour Front Centre and immediately after we walked out of the train station, she caught sight of the Christmas decoration they were putting up and requested for her picture to be taken. That girl was almost in tears initially as there were many people exiting from the train station and they were in the way of the camera. But once the crowd dispersed, she quickly struck a pose.

What do girls do when they go out?

Cheryl adores Aunt Di and she would usually want her Aunt Di to shower her, feed her, play with her among other things.

And Aunt Di enjoys C's company too. I absolutely love the different hair styles that she creates for C.

Just look at our Precious:
