We decided to have dinner out this weekend and thought it would be a good idea to let the children have some fun before dinner too.

So after C's golf session, we went to Bottle Tree Park where the children did some fishing.

Cheryl and Asher had a great time. It has been a long while since we went fishing with C and for Asher, he was just happy that he was able to waddle in the shallow waters. The little fishes were pretty hard to catch with that little net of theirs and Grand Mummy lent a helping hand.

Brycen, on the other hand, enjoyed the view and ate his dinner. 

The duo with their catch for the evening and they were beaming from ear to ear with the fish they had caught.

But we didn't bring of the fish back as we insisted on releasing them back into the pond and Precious had the honour of doing it with the help of Grand Mummy.

Asher reminds me of Aunt Di. Although every one says he is a carbon copy of his daddy, Ben, he does resemble his mummy too.

and our dinner. Aunt Di and Grand Mummy prepared this massive dish, 盆菜. We had always wanted to try this dish hence our dearerst Grand Mummy decided that we would savour it in the cozy setting of our home.

And thank you, Aunt Di, for giving us a run-through of how to prepare this dish.

Aunt Di and Grand Mummy make some really mean new year goodies and they have been taking orders for several years now. 

The Lunar New Year is around the corner and they are taking orders again.

We love them because they are really delicious and very crispy and I have finished the entire tub at one sitting. Hehe. Anyways, if you are keen, you can email my sister at blogaaholic@gmail.com. She will close orders when she hits her quota of 30 tubs.

We love it when we spend Sundays with Grand Mummy and the rest of C's aunts. :)

One of the many reasons is because these ladies have the most wonderful ideas when it comes to preparing dinner and they are always in the mood to try out new recipes and new tastes.

  This evening, we had tempura udon. It doesn't look anything like those being sold in the stores but the taste was good. C liked it so much, she actually ate two bowls! How's that for a validation? :)

Several weeks ago, we went for crabs and then Grand Mummy and Aunt Di decided to try cooking the crabs themselves. Grand Mummy prepared the crabs and when she learned that we would be paying her a visit, decided to cook that special dish that evening.

Not too bad! Actually, it was delicious except that I found it a little too dry.

Then this afternoon, Uncle Ben and Aunt Di went out on a mission: to get prawns because he thought the dish would be equally yummilicious when prepared with prawns.

And there we have it! The dish was very successfully prepared and all of us agreed that the prawns were perfect.

Uncle Ben had nasi lemak, one of his favourite local dish , for dinner the previous evening. In fact, the entire family had that but because Daddy, Cheryl and I weren't there to taste the food, Aunt Di, together with Grand Mummy decided that they would prepare the same food for dinner this evening.

Cheryl also lent a helping hand in the kitchen.

 Lovely food! It was extremely delicious and to know that they prepared the dinner for us made the food taste exceptionally good. Yes, we know we are loved. :)

Daddy wanted to take us here but we couldn't seem to find the opportunity to until last evening. We were wondering where should we go for dinner and then Daddy commented that we should go there.

Oasis, a taiwan porridge restaurant parked in the middle of a very tranquil and lovely garden. 

Because there were only 3 of us, we ordered ourselves a very modest spread of simple dishes to go with the steaming hot porridge.

Guess what? We loved the food and the place so much, all of us gave it the thumbs up and had Aunt Di, Uncle Ben, Asher, Aunt Margaret and Aunt Jules joined us for dinner this evening at the same place.

Yummy food! And we would be back ... with Grand Daddy and Grand Mummy. They would definitely agree to the food. :)

Aunt Di turned 28 recently and we went out for a little celebration in the evening.

Teochew Porridge! We haven't had this in a long time and we ate so much! Well, the food was good and it was also very refreshing to eat steaming, hot porridge. The spread also brought back fond memories...

The delicious banana chocolate cake that Daddy bought for Aunt Di. Wonderful dessert to satisfy our sweet tooth. :)

One week of holidays is coming to an end and since C and I spent most of our time at home, we jumped at the chance to meet Aunt Di when she said she wanted to go to Paragon to get some stuff for Baby Asher. Grand Mother and Grand Father had to make a trip to the doctor so it was good for us to take a break too.

It has been ages since I last went to Orchard Road and seriously I was beginning to miss that place. I was also hoping that we could squeeze in a dental appointment because we missed our last one. Unfortunately, the clinic was fully booked for the day so we would have to go another time.

But the day was fun with Baby Asher and Aunt Di.

We had lunch at Thai Express...

And we did some walking at Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Next, we went for tea at 

:) They have such lovely bread. 

And we ended the night with some craft work. 

C has been doing her Math exercises and revising her phonics nightly.

We used to feel and think that the school holidays was never long enough but this was a good break because C and I could spend more time with each other than usual and that in itself is a blessing. :)

Baby Asher!

We visited Baby Asher in the afternoon and C was all excited about seeing her cousin. She was tiptoeing over his cradle and since Daddy instructed that she could not touch him without adult supervision, she obediently put her hands behind her back.

But she did get to carry him.

We took turns having our pictures taken with the baby. :)

We have a thing for Indian food and this weekend, since Grand Mummy wasn't in town, we decided to satisfy our craving. Grand Mummy isn't even remotely fond of Indian food and to have the cuisine when she is around would not be nice because she would be the only one one of the two left out because Aunt Jules apparently, also doesn't eat Indian.

So we went! Yes, even C. It didn't matter that she doesn't eat spicy food because we packed dinner for her. Hee.

As for the rest of us, we pigged out!

I was pleasantly surprised when we got into the restaurant because it was my first time there and I was amazed to see that the place was very nicely done up. The modern set-up was a great contrast to the other Indian restaurants around and my eyes widened when I saw the waiters take our orders using a cool note pad.

We had their famous curry fish head and the chicken masala. C loved the crackers!

We also had their mixed fried food of samosa, calamari rings and chips, broccoli kebabs with cheese and spice and of course naan! Lovely!

The fish head curry was alright. But it does look like a place that we will come back to. :)
