"Catch [him] If You Can"

The most shocking news to hit the country this year...

Terrorist Mas Selamat Kastari staged his own sequel to the highly acclaimed and popular, "Prison Break" right at our front door. (Daddy's words)

He escaped 5 days ago and judging by what has been going on these days, the likelihood of him being found is slimmer than my waist. The authorities and experts strongly believe that he is still in Singapore but if my opinions matter, I think the first thing that a fugitive would do will be to flee a country like Singapore.

Last Friday, when Daddy was driving home, he encountered a massive traffic jam and there were police crawling all over the place.

Last weekend, the neighbourhood around our workplace was abuzz with activity and we were told that our boss had to come back to the workplace in the middle of the night to ensure that the compound was secured and no one had broken in. Apparently, if you watched enough CSI, you would know that even the simplest of household items and detergents can create havoc, much less a school with chemicals in the labs.

And now, there is even a bounty of $1000 on his head! Go figure!

Okay, dejavu ...

WWII
We had so much confidence in our British government but they lost us to the Japanese. We "realised" that we could count on no one but ourselves to protect and defend our country and hence stirred up the whole band of nationalistic feelings.

MAS SELAMAT
We had so much confidence in our police and security but they lost a man with a limp. We "realised" that we could count on no one but ourselves to protect and defend our children and loved ones and so started a massive collaboration between communities and civilians; give out posters and flyers to people on the streets.

In case you haven't seen any of the posters, here is what he looks like:

ps: noticed that there is suddenly a surge in the advertisements about our Police Force in the media!

pps: oh, and it is apparently no longer illegal to just paste posters any where. I see them in void decks, on pillars, in lifts just to name a few. Thought there were designated boards at bus stops for such things. But then again, desperate times call for desperate measures, right?
