Langkawi 2016 - Mid Break! Part 2

The trip was meant to be a relaxing one and we did just that.

Activity 1: Langkawi SkyCab, Langkawi Suspension Bridge, Langkawi Oriental Village.

The Langkawi Cable Car is also known as the Langkawi SkyCab. It is one of the major attractions in Langkawi and we definitely wanted to take the opportunity to ride a cable car all the way up to its 2079m. The gradient between the Base Station and the Middle Station has the reputation of being the steepest in the world at 42° and it was quite a sight (and fright) as we sat in the gondolas staring out.

We also walked around and toured the Oriental Village a little. The children and daddies stopped for some snacks and pictures.

Activity 2: Pasar Malam at Pantai Cenang

This was a huge bazaar and quite a distance from our hotel. The drive was about 40 minutes. We walked through the narrow lanes and aisles and while people stopped to get food from the vendors, we stopped for pictures.

From fruits like lychee, to jackfruit, to local cuisines of assam laksa and curry mee, from appetizers like rojak to desserts like donuts and cakes. The place was bursting with activity and people.

Activity 3: Birthday celebration
A (secretly) planned celebration for Daddy! Thank you, buddies! It was a really sweet gesture. :)

Activity 4: Langkawi Eagle Square

We had to come here for a group picture! Eagle Square. Thankfully, there weren't many people and we were able to pose for that perfect shot.

Activity 5: Beach-attack!

The weather was perfect and we hit the beaches. The children were talking about playing on the beach since the time we arrived and they wouldn't stop. We couldn't blame them really because the water was really inviting and it was pure luxury to be able to let our hair down, run around without inhibition, and just have fun.

  • It's been a while since we sat ourselves in a plane. Definitely itching to fly over, to let our hair loose, to catch up with friends and be tourists.
