"Steady, steady"

Today was another day off as it was Hari Raya Puasa and I had plans for C.

We had wanted to enrol her for this a month back but the vacancies were filled up during the National Day holiday and when I checked last Friday and saw that they still had slots left for today, I quickly signed C up.

The Lord gave us a fine morning that wasn't too humid and neither was it wet so we were off at 10 am.

Arriving at the Park.

The stroll in took us about 10 minutes. Just look at the Pair... they were catching up with each other and as I trailed behind, I could hear their giggles and chatter. Really heart-warming. :)

C getting strapped up for the high elements. She was well prep for this and for many occasions, mentioned that she wanted to play at the Dangerous Playground. She would send me to work on some mornings and en route, we would pass by College East which has this adventure camp and each time we went by, she would ask if she was old enough to try the activities.

Brion arrived shortly after and he too got ready.

Then they were off... .

This was the first station and once that first step was taken, there was no turning back. They were briefed on how to handle the robes and some safety rules and then they started.

Some how, they found their balance easily and had no problem making their way on the tight rope and planks.

One of the station had them crawling on all fours.

They were almost at the end of the course.

This Station was the most challenging as the logs were wobbly and keeping one's balance was tough. It was easy to see why some children stood rooted and could not move forward. The many Stations prior to this slowly worked up the children's courage for this Station.

The Instructors there were encouraging and so were the many parents who came with their children. Many were giving advice from the ground to help their little ones muster the courage to step on the logs.

The children were almost at the end now.

The zip-line. This was C's favourite! She had always wanted to try the Flying Fox and now she had. :)

We were extremely proud of Brion and Cheryl for successfully completing the Course. It took us about 1.5 hours but it was well spent. The children discovered today that they were capable of accomplishing tasks that they thought were daunting and risky.

"Well done, kids!"
