Malacca 18th-19th May

We started the journey early and after picking up Grand Daddy and Mummy, it was off to the North-South Highway!

Daddy's GPS came into good use not because we didn't know our way but more so for all the speed traps. And the little walkies that he borrowed from Aunt Linda came in very handy too because it made communication between all three cars so easy.

Daddy in action; "warning" Uncles Eugene and JM about the speed traps!

Cheryl, enjoying the view at times, but with her shades on. We came well prepared with our portable tv so that she would not be bored in the car.

I made these the night before as snacks for our little ones and I was glad that Yeva and Cheryl loved them.

After our short break at Machap, we continued our journey to Malacca. It was lunch when we reached our destination and we immediately headed for the famous bak kou tei. Then we went shopping as our rooms at the hotel were not ready.

This was one of the rooms we got. It was really nice and spacious.

After we checked in, the children went for their swim in the pool. Here are some of the pictures our little ones. They just loved to pose for the cameras.

We also did some sight seeing.

We had our dinner at Newton Food Centre and then after that, we went to catch the procession at Jonker Street. As it was Vesak Day, the chinese community had a parade. There were band performances, as well as Dragon and Lion Dances. There was also a display of the many Buddha statues.

The next morning, we went for more sight seeing and we took some pictures of our kids.

A picture of our girls before we checked out of the hotel.

We missed the dessert at Jonker Street so much.. it has been 2 years since we went there and we decided we must eat it before we left Malacca so we went to this little store and had our fill. We ate their famous assam laksa and fish ball noodles and of course, their desserts.

Our trip there was like a food trail and there was never once where we were hungry. But because we were only there for a short 2 days, we tried to cramp as many activities and eat as much as we could in the very limited time we had there. But we all had a great time there. :)
