Aunt Di knows how C loves the pandan cake so when we went over to Grand Mummy's, she was already preparing the ingredients for the baking session. Immediately after lunch, we started. Cheryl was equally excited and wanted to be very much involved.
First the white and yokes of the eggs were separated and beaten. C helped to beat the eggs too.
Then when the mixture was of the right consistency, colour and some vanilla essence were added. Thereafter, the mixture was poured into the very fluffy egg white and mixed thoroughly.
The mixture was then poured into the mold.Of course, we had to put it into a pre-heated oven and 45 minutes later, a very fragrant smelling cake was done!
Just look at the cake! Really mouth-watering, isn't it? Did I say C loves this cake? Every time she brings this to school, her lunch box comes back empty. Aunt Di even baked us an extra one so that we could bring it back for breakfast the next day. (Really thoughtful of her)
In the evening, we were scratching our heads as to where to go for dinner and then Aunt Di said we should try Botak Jones. Daddy and I have heard so much of this Botak Jones but we haven't had the chance to eat there so we thought, "why not?"
We were expecting to dine at some restaurant but were pleasantly surprised that it was actually at a food court. We are not complaining because I am sure enterprising businessmen would have considered the pros of serving restaurant-standard food at food court prices.
We have placed orders for our food and waiting expectedly for it to come. (Some how, the total cost was very obvious in this picture.)
This was what Aunt Di and Margaret had. The cheese looked really tempting.
Uncle Ben had Fish and Chips. The serving was really huge and it could easily feed 2 very hungry people. Daddy had the steak and it was very delicious. The meat was tender and the rosemary herbs they used was just right. It was money well spent!
C, after she has had her fill!
