It's sushi-making day and a lot more...

On several occasions, I wanted to take C for sushi-making class but it never quite materialised because the timing was wrong or I was busy with work. This term break, I was determined to take her for it and made arrangements 2 weeks before the September holidays.

C had her friends, Ashley and Keziah with her for the session and she was so happy and excited that she couldn't sleep the night before. She was going on and on about what she was planning to make.

It was pouring but we made it there safe and sound and thankfully on time. The girls really looked cute in their get-up, hats and aprons and all.

Washing their hands before handling the food. Good hygiene practice!

The ingredients and tools that they would be using.

And the session began...

The mummies left their girls there and went for breakfast and did some walking around... and when we returned some 3 hours later,

the sushi were done and had been nicely packed.
Yes, C made all these. I was pretty impressed. :)

But she wasn't done. In fact, the 3 of them were busy drawing on their tees...

We were unable to collect the tees as they were not dry.

But the girls were mighty proud of themselves. The young chap decided to join in our photo shot and he was really sweet with the ladies. :)

They were each given a goody bag before they left.

No prizes for guessing what C had for lunch. Ha ha!

After lunch, Uncle Kai Wei drove us all to the Omni theater to catch a movie.
Nice! :)

We had a wonderful day!

A good afternoon off! :)

After C was dismissed from school, we went for lunch at C's favourite joint! :) No prizes for guessing where we went... .

Then we did a little shopping and we were on our way to meet my colleagues for high-tea. :) But before that, we made a detour to our family doc where C received her flu jab. I had told her since 2 weeks ago that she had to and that sent her whining and protesting and she retorted that she rather not go to Japan.

Even at the Doctor's room, when she saw him preparing the medication, she turned to me, shaking her head. Doc told her it won't hurt. She was staring at what Doc was doing and I thought it would be a better idea to just cover her eyes and make her count to ten with me. Even Doc started counting and when we came to number 7, Doc said "All done!" and C didn't even flinch!

I was surprised and so was C. "Not painful?" I asked C. "Nope!" She later told me she didn't feel a thing.

And off we went to Far East Square!

We were early so we walked around and took pictures. :)

BFF!

Zinnia and C went out for lunch at their favourite joint. C was pleading to eat Japanese and I thought it would be brilliant to also take Zinnia out.

BFF!
Cheryl clearly enjoyed the company and of course the food.

Lunch at Sakae!

It's Teachers' Day and it is a day off for C and me. Well, Daddy took the day off too because he reckoned he could spend some time with us. :)

C requested for sushi at her favourite joint so we did lunch at Sakae yet again.

C was grinning from ear to ear and she couldn't wait to dig in.

Now that she has learnt to appreciate sashimi, she was cleaning out her plate.

This time round, instead of udon noodles, C tried out the pasta, which she finished too. I think she must be really hungry or she must really love the food at Sakae.

Nothing beats the look of happiness and bliss. The school holidays are coming up and I hope to be able to spend more time with C. :)

Cheryl decides!

What is so great about the school holidays?

Well, for starters, I am off on a weekday and C has no classes to attend. To top it all, if Daddy gets some time off as well, we will take the opportunity to take C somewhere or do something that is quite different. We wanted to go swimming because the weather was so hot and frolicking in the pool seemed a fantastic idea.

But C wasn't keen so Plan B: she caught the trailers of the movie, Monsters vs Aliens and when we told her there would be popcorns, she beamed and then said, "Let's go!".

We took the bus and gave our ride a rest today! :)

C waiting for the arrival of the bus ...

... and took a picture of us.

C enjoying the view from the top.

C is no longer covering her ears nor burying her head or hiding her face when some scary scenes come on: which is a marked improvement from the last time I took her to the cinema. She is beginning to enjoy the movie. :)

It was a funny show to catch! Check out the trailers:

And she said, to celebrate Daddy's birthday, she wants to treat him to a sushi lunch.

our lunch date!

C has been asking to visit her favourite joint and I thought it would be great to do lunch with Aunt Angie and Zinnia. :)

So immediately after C's class we headed off to meet them. Naturally, the girls and Mummies had a fancy-sushi time!

hmmm, I can get used to this! Haha!

"It's sushi time again!"

Today is a special day for Daddy and me.
:) We have been married 6 years.

Yeah, although Daddy had to work, C and I had our little celebration.

She wanted sushi the day before so I thought today would be a better day to take her. So immediately after her dismissal, we headed for Sakae Sushi.

Our Princess has a mind of her own and she knows what she wants to eat or what she fancies. And since she wanted pasta, she wanted me to order her ebi tempura as well. Our Spark was gamed enough to sample some salmon sashimi.

C loves sushi!

I brought C to Sakae Sushi as she wanted udon for lunch last week and it was a great experience. Today, she requested for udon again and specifically told me she wanted sushi like the last time.

So after completing our shopping , yes, shopping for Christmas is done! We headed for lunch.

Posing with Santa!

C remembered what she had the last time and was eyeing the conveyor belt for the food she had. Then she prompted removed the plate and put in on the table. She saw where I had taken the chopsticks from previously and this time, she behaved like she had been to Sakae umpteen times and knew what to take.

Cheryl enjoyed the sushi a lot! And she wanted to take even more before I stopped her because I was afraid she would not be able to finish her noodles after. She was enjoying her food and then asked, "Mummy why is my noodles taking so long?" Oh, then I told her, I hadn't ordered it. Hee...

Her mini tempura udon set came and she tucked into it immediately.
