Crabby!

Several weeks ago, we went for crabs and then Grand Mummy and Aunt Di decided to try cooking the crabs themselves. Grand Mummy prepared the crabs and when she learned that we would be paying her a visit, decided to cook that special dish that evening.

the ingredients that we needed...
and moments later...

Not too bad! Actually, it was delicious except that I found it a little too dry.

Then this afternoon, Uncle Ben and Aunt Di went out on a mission: to get prawns because he thought the dish would be equally yummilicious when prepared with prawns.

And there we have it! The dish was very successfully prepared and all of us agreed that the prawns were perfect.

crabs!

Grand Mummy loves crabs! In fact, all of us do and I have been meaning to get all of us here since the last time I came to this place with my ex colleagues.

Crab with salted egg.
Grand Mummy was full of praises for this one here. It was absolutely "finger-licking" good and even C enjoyed it. Uncle Ben who doesn't usually eat crabs also gave it a thumbs up.

The soap here was delicious and we cleaned out the entire bowl too. :) Tasty and definitely very sweet!

We ordered side dishes to go along.

It was a very hearty meal indeed and I have a feeling we will be back for more.

C loves Mussels!

The thing about Nature is, when we are truly in tune with her, she really provides the best kind of entertainment. I still remember those times when we were children and our family outings were mostly to the beach where Grand Uncle Joe threw the net for prawns, crabs and fish.

This time round, Grand Uncle Joe came with his boat...

Grand Uncle Joe is always prepared.

The rest of us enjoyed our breakfast while Grand Uncle Joe and Steve, together with Ben went out into the sea. The spread was really something and we were chilling out and having a good time ourselves.

Daddy and Grand Uncle Joe getting the boat ready...

Grand Aunt Yvonne was here too! (all the way from Germany) :)

After like what seemed ages.... the catch!

C and Aunt Dallas were naturally thrilled and asked to go on the boat. This time, Daddy went along.

Oh, then the Grand Aunts got busy...
Grand Mummy prepared the fish too so we had a great time feasting on the ultra-fresh seafood!
This really is the best part, although I think the "fishermen" Grand Uncles felt that being out there in the waters was the ultimate.
Cheryl has learned to appreciate mussels and she absolutely loves them! She was eating one after another and could have easily downed 10 of them. Can't blame her when these beauties were so sweet and fresh and even though it was the first time she had them, she didn't reject the new taste. :)

She wait so long .... C wanted to go down and start her digging for more mussels and clams and crabs but the rain came down on us and cut short our outing. Naturally C was disappointed but she admitted that she had fun and would want to do it again. :)

Yummy Crab Bee Hoon!

Grand Mummy cooked her very delicious crab bee hoon this evening!

It's been such a long time since she last cooked this and when she said that she would today, I was literally jumping for joy! :)

The crabs and the bee hoon.

In went all the ingredients and in a matter of minutes ...

Viola! Dinner is served!

Uncle Ben's treat!

We had lovely seafood this evening as Uncle Ben thought it would be nice to give us all a treat...

And what a treat it turned out to be!

We went to this seafood restaurant at Upper Thomson Road.

Our Little Spark waiting eagerly for the food to be served. All the time, she was going, "I want to eat dinner" and we had to remind her to be patient.

Some of the dishes we had.

We didn't know we could eat so much! And the crab gave us a real scare because by the time it was served, we were already quite filled up. Aunt Di was saying that she was almost terrified to turn around to look at the crabs when she saw my eyes widened at the waitress who brought it.

My immediate reaction was "Didn't we only just ordered 2 crabs?" Look at how big these 2 crabs were.
