2 years back, I bought C her first laptop from Leapfrog.

It was a very good and thoughtful gift because now that C is learning to read, the laptop with the accompanying books on dipthongs and word blends have proven to be extremely useful indeed.

Recently, C has progressed to learning about words beginning with more than a single letter. Ms May from Josiah added in her remarks that C is being exposed to words beginning with "st", "sp" sounds too. And this evening, C said she wanted to play on her laptop so we took it out and she was glued to it for a good 15 minutes.

Granted that the laptop is a little dated. In fact, the Leapfrog website no longer carries this bulky looking monster and has substituted it with some cool, stylish albeit smaller and definitely more mobile friendly design, I am not too upset because, well, it served its purpose well. :)
