On the bus and then train to our hotel in Tokyo from Kyoto.
We put up at Shinjuku Washington Hotel. Well, to say the room was small was an understatement. There was hardly any walking space after we laid out our luggage but this meant that I was very focused and would prepare the clothes we needed to wear the next day the night before. Then I would zip up the luggage so that none of us would trip over the next day. This also meant that I didn't have to spend a lot of time packing up when we were leaving the hotel for the airport as I was dutifully packing every night we were there.
Our dinner after we checked into the hotel. We didn't venture out because it was already 10 pm and besides, we were hungry and tired and the children were becoming a little grumpy.
We didn't pass up a chance to visit the Chinatown in Yokohama. After getting lost in the labyrinth of the train stations, we were smarter this time and learned that we should never rush into any trains that appear on the platform as each station serviced many different lines.
So we took our time, examined the arrival times of the trains and then looked out for the destinations of the trains.
It pays to be patient and to be more observant. :) Because it is always better to be late than to be lost!
Who could miss these gates?
And it really felt as if we had left Japan. Hehe.
Our breakfast. C loved the noodles and she finished up the almond jelly! The waitress here spoke in Mandarin but like the rest of Japan, there wasn't any chili to go with our dishes. We were hoping that we could get some green chili to go with our "sang mien".
We visited an aquarium there too where we saw many strange fishes. There was even a tutorial session but the presentation was in Japanese and we didn't have a clue what was going on, unfortunately.
Jelly fish! and our cheeky C posing for the camera.
C and Daddy, enjoying their ice cream. The weather was freezing but it didn't stop the children and adults from having any. :)
Such steaming hot and extremely large baos were seen along the way but we didn't buy any because they were simply too big and I reckoned we would not be able to finish them since we had had breakfast just a while ago.
I spotted this "Ben House" on our way back to the train station :) and had to snap a shot for Uncle Ben.
