Daddy managed pretty well, I must say while I was away for a good 2 days. He was able to coach C in the evenings and I was very impressed because apparently, C did her homework unsupervised. I think Daddy should do this more often in the evenings. :)
He told me that with his no-nonsense tone, he instructed C to "do it well and you only need to do it once". And true to his words, he erased her already completed homework and got her to rewrite the words which he thought were not up to standard. QC check!
But C had fun even though she was really tired by the time she was done.
This evening, C also had writing to do.
Although she tried her luck with me, and wanted to do other things, she knew that we meant business when we told her to complete her assignment first.
For phonics, C has gone off to do long vowels and simple spelling of words with long vowels.
After the serious stuff, it was time for some relaxing activities.
C's favourite of colouring, cutting and pasting.
She chooses all the work that she wants to do in the evenings usually and this evening, she wanted to do some writing in Chinese. Her first attempt at writing such a complex character. I was asking her if she wanted to learn to write her name in Chinese too but she turned me down flatly. "Next time, Mummy!"
Well, I guess, she will want to learn it eventually and when she is ready. :)
