more Christmas performances!

We started the day with music and C was really excited to attend teacher Siew Li's class.

Daddy has become such a regular at McDonald's that the waiter knows exactly what his orders are and will prepare his cuppa before he even needs to verbalize it. As for C, she got a complimentary cup of nice, warm milk this morning.

C, participating actively as usual in class. Her termly report is out and as expected, she didn't manage as well this time round. She has grown very comfortable in class and often tends to get distracted or lose focus. :( Guess I will have to do more work with her at home.

We caught Dora after her class and had our pictures taken.

In the evening, we headed down to Tampines Mall for our pictures with Strawberry Shortcake, another of C's favourite.

the director, script writer...

We were out window-shopping and C picked up a really interesting "book". The moment she laid her eyes on it, she knew that she had to get it. So our little girl carried it to me and then patiently told me that she must have it.

Of course it helped that the characters featured were her favourite Dora and friends but what was intriguing was that instead of the normal stories that she usually read, this was done in the style of a theater.

Once we got back, she insisted on playing her new toy.

Rules of the game:

C has a very imaginative mind and this game suited her to the T. She was able to tell her stories in whatever way she liked. There were many scene changes and they were all different; from space adventure, to the ballroom princessy ones.

Setting the scene:

And she was ready to go.

The game came complete with audience!

Dora, the Explorer Live!

Thanks to Aunt Shirley, Cheryl and I received complimentary tickets to catch one of Cheryl's many favourite characters live on stage.

Daddy and I decided that C would miss this performance as we had already gotten tickets to watch Barney next Saturday so when Aunt Shirley texted 2 weeks ago about her free tickets, no one was happier than Cheryl.

Cheryl waiting eagerly at the entrance and asking me every 2 seconds if Aunt Shirley and Baby Heidi would be here.

Baby Heidi with Daddy Edwin! She is such a doll!

Cheryl enjoying her sausage while watching the performance. She was very responsive and would call out to Dora and when it came to the songs, she was trying to sing along and at one point, requested to be put on the floor so that she could dance, as Dora asked.

These are some pictures of the performance. Not taken by me though because as you know by now, I have lousy camera skills. My pictures came out all blurry and out of focus. Hee.

Dora the Explorer...

We wanted to bring C swimming today but the weather didn't seem too promising so we decided to do a little shopping instead and got her her first play house.

Sometime last year, Daddy and I were already contemplating getting her a doll house. But we decided against it as she was too young and would not appreciate it. On top of that, these little adorable parts would go missing soon enough.

This was the set we had originally planned to get.

And when Daddy saw the Dora play house, he immediately got it for her!

The two of them started building the play house the moment they stepped into the house.
