On a Nature Trail

Cheryl woke up early... around 6.30am and it was like she was expecting it to be an exciting day. Oh, how right she was!

I gave Grandparents a call and found out they had gone to MacRitchie Reservoir with Grand Uncle Chee and Aunt June so we decided to join them there. Once we were there, we waited for them at the car park. There was someone selling shoes there and Cheryl, who always has a thing for shoes, decided she wanted to try out a pair or two. The guy laughed and said Ronald McDonald can take a break now. Of course, we added that she was doing advertisement for Nike!

Then we started on our walk. It was a long walk but a very educational one because we saw an Oriental Whip Snake. Grand Uncle Chee initially thought he saw something that looked like a snake and it was only after a while that we realised it was a real snake. We also saw people learning how to kayak. There were so many activities going on there!

We also found out why Tampines is pronounced "Tampinis" and not "Tam-pines". Apparently, lots of Tampinis trees were found in that area before it was developed into the town that it is today.

Cheryl also saw a squirrel and some wild mushrooms. She could recognise ferns and would point to them when we asked her where the ferns were. We also encountered monkeys on the trail and Grand Aunt June, fearing that the monkey would come after Cheryl for her milk, decided to keep her bottle of milk and pass the monkeys first before giving her the rest of her bottle.

It was by, and large a very educational trip, not just for her but for us too! Totally enjoyable! Nothing beats the fresh air and refreshing walk.

Daddy called up in the afternoon while we were talking a nap; we were so exhausted from the walk and needless to say, I was thrilled! He updated me on how he was doing and asked about our little girl. Daddy misses Cheryl so much! Daddy, Cheryl misses you too... and so do I.
