Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives

For English these days, C has been taught nouns, verbs and adjectives and her homework this evening involved identifying these functions on simple sentences.

She was given a passage to read and then C had to underline the nouns, verbs and adjectives in different colours.

When I saw the exercise, I was smiling because it reminded me of those exercises I would give my students. And teacher, I can't help but notice that C has omitted words linking words like "is" and "was" which are also considered verbs. I stopped myself from getting her to underline those so as not to confuse her. :) Occupational hazard!
