C is quite an angel...

Ever since that time where Daddy got C to complete her homework unsupervised, I have been doing the same as well, although not half as successful as Daddy.

Thankfully, C has been extremely cooperative. On Tuesday, by the time we got back from her music class, it was already late and I told her that I had to go for a quick shower and that she would have to finish her work on her own. She compiled and sat herself down at her desk.

Then I excused myself and went to the bathroom... only to be invaded 10 minutes later. C had done part of her homework and she came through the door holding her book in her hand. "Almost done, Mummy!" She said delightedly and while I was happy, I had to hurriedly rush her out because I was not even half done. Haha

It happened again this evening but this time, she said she would wait for me in the room to just look through what she had done.

success?

greetings from Strasbourg and updates...

This is the view from the window of his hotel room.

So Daddy has been away for 3 days now and counting... .
C didn't take it very well initially and especially so on Sunday after Daddy flew off. Uncle JM was very nice and kind to offer to drive us to the airport to see Daddy off and after we got back, C was asking me if Daddy would return the next day.

I told her that he would not be back till the next Saturday and she was silent for a while and then she started tearing. Then she went over to the refrigerator where we had some pin-ups of our pictures. She removed a picture and then went on to place it under her pillow. She said she wants to keep her Daddy close by.

Yesterday, I discovered that she had taken her Moo Moo (her luggage) out and it was sitting on the floor in my bedroom. C said, she is ready to go on a holiday now. I wonder what other surprises will she give me later today...

Lesson 3

3rd swimming lesson and the girls appear to be more confident in the waters.

weaving heart

Another art piece that C completed.

This was done over 2 weeks and for Valentine's Day.

France for 2 weeks...

Daddy is going away on a business trip for 2 weeks... .

Yes, 2 long weeks away and the hotel he will be putting up is Le Forum at Strasbourg. We did a little checking and true to our suspicions, the folks there hardly speak English and Daddy's command of the French language is limited to Bonjour,Au voir and Merci. But I am sure he will do fine because he can always ask his colleagues there. :)

Weather check shows that the temperature is still in the single digit and there are even talks of Daddy experiencing snow so he will likely have to don his winter wear.  2 weeks isn't a terribly long time but C and I will positively miss him heaps. I guess Daddy can still venture out into the city of Paris and see some sights. Ah... Paris, the city of love... I so wish to be there with him...

number bonds

Cheryl is learning to do counting using number bonds now.

I guess learning to count through number bonds is very good because addition is definitely a lot easier.

Happy New Year

We had lunch at Grand Mummy's place before we went off to do our visitations.

Cheryl, with Grand Daddy and Grand Mummy.Uncle Ben, Daddy, and Asher, trying to get some attention...

... and Daddy peering from the sofa...
The family... Aunt Margaret was with Uncle Fong and out of the country...

Yummy food, prepared by Grand Mummy and Aunt Di

Daddy with his Andriod, C with my iPhone. Like father, like daughter: gamesters.

a new beginning...

The first meal for the new year...

a get-together lunch...

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, getting together to have a meal together is a must. This year, we didn't want Grand Mummy to be a slave in the kitchen so we decided to eat out.

Posing for pictures before lunch was served...

Yusheng! Woohoo! This is my favourite dish and tasting it after a year-long wait was heavenly. C has also come to appreciate this dish and now that she was better with her chopsticks, she was tossing and picking up the pieces of raw fish as well.

Lovely food!

C had many servings of the fried rice...
Actually, there was also chili crab but I had forgotten to take pictures of it because my fingers were stained with the gravy... ops.

"Lost Treasure"

Nope, I am not referring to the movie, Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure.

It is customary to do spring cleaning before the Lunar New Year and guess what Daddy found?

Yes, his toys!

No prizes for guessing who had a great time playing with them.

Friends!

C and her classmates went to school in their ethnic costumes and Aunt Sonali took these pictures of our lovely girls. :)

getting into the festive mood

Apparently, C told Daddy Dearest that she wanted to do some craft and she specifically gave him instructions on where he could get the materials for her.

You could imagine her joy when Daddy returned from work in the evening and handed her the stuff she had requested.

Some cutting and pasting and 30 minutes later, C had the decorations for the Lunar New Year done up.  Very pretty, indeed! :)

A little something for C's teachers...

The Lunar New Year is around the corner and C has been belting out festive Chinese songs. So we had a little chat and she said she would like to bring mandarin oranges to her teachers on Friday as she would be having a celebration with her classmates and teachers.

Grand Mummy and us got down to fixing these packages for C's teachers.
We certainly hope her teachers like them. :)

Swimming lesson starts...

Our 3 little girls' swimming lessons officially starts today!

C was extremely excited about it and was talking about it the entire afternoon. She could not wait to be in the pool with Yeva too.

Even though the bag containing her swimming gear was quite heavy, she insisted on carrying it herself.

When we got there, Zinnia was already doing her laps in the pool. So it was just C and Yeva here.

The girls' lesson...

Portrait drawing...

Daddy and I noticed that C has been returning with pictures of faces and then we realise that this is what C would start with for every art lesson.

The drawing of the boy was done last Saturday and today, she drew a picture of a girl.

Little Artist! I have been telling her to be careful when she is painting because she has "ruined" many pieces of shirts, and shorts as they were stained with the different colours. Teacher Moe also advised us to let her wear something extra. I told Grand Mummy about C's little problem and Grand Mummy said that she would sew an apron for Precious.

Grand Mummy isn't exactly free right now, so the apron will have to wait. Mean while, we bought another from Ikea and I think it will last her till Grand Mummy is less busy. :)
