Meeting Aunt Kavita!

It's been ages! 3 years to be exact, that we haven't seen each other.

Aunt Kavita is expecting and she will be due in December and since it is the holidays, we thought we could do a little catching up. We had brunch and we tried out this fairly new eatery near our University.

Aunt Kavita ordered St Benedict.

Daddy had Cowboy,

Cheryl had french fingers with maple syrup and

I had a platter of sausages!

The food, especially Daddy's steak was very delicious and definitely worth every penny. :)

C's happy face said it all. :)

A picture is worth a thousand words. Congratulations Aunt Kavita and Uncle Gooch!

Josiah's Carnival Extravaganza!

It was a difficult decision to make but C told us that she would go for the enrichment class with her classmates. The theme for the enrichment class was Carnival Extravaganza and it stretched for a good 4 days.

She was given a "ticket" for her daily admission to the Carnival.

Then for the next few days, C returned with the many types of food she made.

There was a fruit and marshmallow dessert, a slice of pizza.

She also made this banana sandwich which she had for dinner and some chicken satay.
C's favourite. This muffin packed treasures! After the muffin was eaten away, she had balls of chocolate inside the cone.

What's a carnival without games?

There was this fishing game she created. It came complete with a self-made fishing hook and fishes.

Then there was this ball-rolling game too and a mask.
And tic tac toe!

Her teachers also took some pictures of her in action during the 4 days:

Go-karting at the Airport!

Our families had lunch together and we went for our F1 run.

Daddy and C clowning around before lunch...

Our turn on the tracks. Hee. The go-karts were slow. Ha ha! If not for the height limit, we were sure even the kiddos could do it.

Then it was Uncle Kai Wei's and Aunt Audrey's turn... while the twins looked on.

The Lord's Prayer

C learned this from her teachers at Sunday School. We first heard her sing it in the car and Daddy asked her if it was the Lord's Prayer. :) She nodded her head and then went on to belt out the song again.

Some words aren't really audible but we are sure she will improve with time. But the good thing is, her teachers also taught her to sign. :) I know some sign language myself so I was able to make up what she was doing. I guess, we could learn the language together in the evenings.

lunch at Changi!

Daddy took some time off from work and after we picked C up from her class, we headed off to Changi Airport for lunch. Yeah, these are the little treats C gets when both Daddy and I are at home. :)

There were some interactive stations around and C and Daddy spent some time on them.

Guess what? We got a ticket for a go-kart ride! Nope, C isn't tall enough to ride it yet and I guess it will be Daddy who will. We are thinking of roping Uncle KW in... Hee. Dinner, Uncle KW?

Josiah Montessori Graduation & Annual Concert 09

At $40 per ticket, Daddy and I found the price a little too steep initially but after we attended our first concert, we were thoroughly impressed with the children, the teachers and of course C.

Victoria Concert Hall was where the concert took place and with a venue like this, standard was definitely set high.

Cheryl with Daddy just moments before we reached the place.
And then, at the entrance, we saw Regina, C's friend.

The School was very thoughtful because photographers were called in the day before during the rehearsal to take close up pictures of the children.

The Finale!

Daddy and I enjoyed the show immensely and we were so proud of all the children. :)

I have taken a video of C's performance but will have it uploaded another time.

Rehearsal

It will be Cheryl's Annual Concert tomorrow and she was expected to arrive in school all dressed and dolled up.

Later in the day, her teachers would be taking her to Victoria Concert Hall where the concert would be held for the final rehearsal. Ms May instructed that C should come with full make up. Anyways, our Precious was thrilled that she was putting on make up for the first time in her life.

Daddy and I were giggling when we saw her costume but agreed that it was very well done to suit the dance item she was going to perform. We can't wait for the Concert tomorrow!

Thank you, Wen Jye 哥哥 and Ai Hong 姐姐

C and I were pleasantly surprised with this very thoughtful gift that Wen Jye 哥哥 and Ai Hong 姐.

This is definitely a book that C can read. :) A very big "thank you" indeed.

We are inoculated!

Going on a holiday and experiencing winter for the first time definitely sounds interesting, exciting and intriguing. But falling ill whilst on the trip will definitely be a damper. Daddy and I have been contemplating about getting ourselves vaccinated for flu for the longest time and now with the H1N1 virus lurking, we sure do not want to take chances.

Several weeks ago, after consulting our family doc, we decided that it would be best that we take the H1N1 vaccination and put our names down on the waiting list. Yesterday evening, the clinic called and told us that stocks are finally in so this evening, we ventured down to our trusty doc to get ourselves the jab.

There have been  a lot of talk about the vaccination and of course the fears of the side effects of this vaccination are very real indeed. However, I have been doing a lot of reading up on it and we know that this is best.

So there! We are inoculated! I wasn't expecting to be given a verification card like this and this whole experience just became "cool"! Haha! The only thing to note is, the vaccination only protects us against the H1N1 virus, not the common seasonal flu.

Those of you who are concerned and want more information, read up on what MOH has published regarding the vaccination.

A good afternoon off! :)

After C was dismissed from school, we went for lunch at C's favourite joint! :) No prizes for guessing where we went... .

Then we did a little shopping and we were on our way to meet my colleagues for high-tea. :) But before that, we made a detour to our family doc where C received her flu jab. I had told her since 2 weeks ago that she had to and that sent her whining and protesting and she retorted that she rather not go to Japan.

Even at the Doctor's room, when she saw him preparing the medication, she turned to me, shaking her head. Doc told her it won't hurt. She was staring at what Doc was doing and I thought it would be a better idea to just cover her eyes and make her count to ten with me. Even Doc started counting and when we came to number 7, Doc said "All done!" and C didn't even flinch!

I was surprised and so was C. "Not painful?" I asked C. "Nope!" She later told me she didn't feel a thing.

Our Precious showing off her plaster.

And off we went to Far East Square!

We were early so we walked around and took pictures. :)
