Swimming!

C loved to play in the water and Daddy thought he could teach his Precious a thing or two.

It wasn't until recently that we realised C actually had a fear for water and she would cling onto Daddy or me tightly. We regretted not taking her to the pool more often in the past. So we thought it would be a good idea to swim more regularly.

Daddy's pal, Uncle Ben invited us over for a BBQ and we took the opportunity to go for a dip in the pool. This time round, C made progress. She was still fearful and clingy but at least she was more willing to try.

I took a lot more pictures but they were accidentally deleted so I guess we will have to be contended with the video.

by the way, a million thanks to Uncle Ben and Aunt Laura for having us. The food was great as usual. :)

Daddy's new toy... .

Daddy's been meaning to get this for some time but after much thought and deliberation, thoughts were put into action and car washing will never be the same again... .

Washing our ride has always been done with pails of water but today, with this little fellow, car washing has become more fun and even C wanted to join in.

Daddy and C took turns spraying our car and the best part, we didn't have to waste lots of water doing so. :)

Now that our Princess is older, she wants to help out whenever she can. She helped to dry the car too. :)

time...

This evening, C did some exercises on time-reading. Well, we haven't really taught her to read the clock formally although we would refer to it when we want her to be ready by a certain time.

There were a series of pictures depicting some actions and C had to indicate the time for these activities like breakfast at 8am and so on. She still has a long way to go because she hasn't quite register that midnight is in the wee hours of the early morning.

More reading of the time although it was the simple "half-past" concept.

Then we did more reading of her English sentences and finished the evening's work with doing her Additions. :)

poetry reading

春晓 孟浩然

春眠不觉晓,
处处文啼鸟.
夜来风雨声,
花落知多少.

relativity and comparison...

C did some comparing and she was happy that a simple exercise like this got her the chance to use her scissor and glue.

Hahaha! Talk about being easily satisfied.

I find myself holding back and trying to stop her from progressing at times. I mean, it is dangerous to be holding a pair of scissors and snipping away but C's got to learn some day to do her own cutting. Yes, it takes her forever to cut the paper but with practice, she will improve and so I just need to control myself and stop myself from taking over.

She has got to learn... . :)

Mazes

C has taken a liking to solving mazes and doing what they call, I.Q. worksheets.

In fact she loves them so much, she can easily finish 10 exercises at a go. I have to stop her or else, the book will be done in 3 days!

So instead of just letting her do these worksheets, I will usually rotate between these and the ones we have been doing: the Math, and English activities. C has had a long break and I wonder if she remembers what has been taught.

The Magic of Disneyland... Day 3

This was our last day and since we had all of Disneyland covered, we decided that we should spend the day exploring the hotels.

Us!

The compound was huge and they also had a playground, much to C's delight.

Stitch's aloha spirit grew on us! Daddy and I executing our best surfer's moves! C too!

C posing with the many Mickey and Minnie figurines.

We took the shuttle back to Disneyland and took more pictures!

... and then we took the roads less travelled literally and found some interesting sights.

We discovered that we could walk to Disneyland Hotel from the theme park !

There were so many beautiful sculptures lining the streets and it was a pity that no many people saw them. Well, at least we did. :)

We arrived at Disneyland Hotel and it was magnificent! The hotel was extremely grand and posh looking. That Bentley there is real! Then C wanted to do the maze.

lovely pictures of us! We were just resting our feet, taking a quick bite and snapping away! :)

After that, we went back to our hotel where C had more fun and games at the Malibu Toy Shop.

C queuing up for her turn.

We managed to catch a glimpse of Goofy who had just returned from his swim at the pool! :) I thought we wouldn't.

Then it was time to go to the airport.

C loved this gigantic "egg". Well, she called it an egg and insisted having her picture taken.

It was a great trip but C lost an ear ring and our flight back was delayed for 3 hours. By the time we touched down in Singapore, we were extremely tired.

So we bid farewell to Disneyland and Daddy said, we would go to Disneyland Japan when C is older. :)

The Magic of Disneyland... Day 2

Early next morning, we went for a dip in the pool after breakfast.

C was waiting for Goofy to join us but he didn't show up... .

After our swim, we got ready to head out to Disneyland again.

Were you right?
C loves pink and she would not choose another gown no matter what I said. So, I present to you, Princess Cheryl Aurore!

First stop: The Art of Animation House!

Here we learned how animations come alive. Goodness! These people at Disneyland are brilliant and terribly smart!

Next we learned how to draw like a true blue Disneyland artist...

Start of the lesson...

Goofy, taking shape...

Not bad for a first timer and I have no art background. At least it does resemble Goofy! Okay, so my picture wasn't symmetrical but I was happy! Hehehe! What Daddy and I especially liked about it; it doesn't matter who you are and where you are from. Once in Disneyland, the magic can happen to anyone and everyone. :)

Outside, Princess C was very quickly spotted and she was given a Special Pass for the day. This Very Important Princess pass meant that she would be in a special area (shady spot) and would have a clear view of the Parade. In addition, the characters that go by will give attention to the princesses there.

C playing some games!

We went to Tomorrow Land! The previous time we were here, we completely missed this out so we didn't want to this time round.

C was particularly excited about driving her own car!

More rides! We even went on the roller coaster and C and I were screaming our lungs out. Actually it was more me than C. I was afraid that the roller coaster ride would be too much for her with all the tight turns, sharp corners and plunging heights but she survived. :) Daddy said it was beautiful and really felt like he was in space, admiring the stars. Too bad, my eyes and so were C's were shut most of the time.

And we also went on the mild Buzz Lightyear ride. C liked this one as she could shoot at the bad guys! She scored a level 2. :)

Seeing that there wasn't a queue at Mickey Mouse House, we headed off to have our pictures taken with the stars of Disneyland.

I love this picture! :)

We returned to the Special Area to catch the parade and look who else we saw! More princesses!

They were so adorable!

C finally met the Princesses!

We also saw the wizard, Merlin.

Once the photos with the princesses were taken, Precious requested a change of clothes. She told me that she was done being a princess ; thanks to her "itchy, scratchy gown" and that she should have listened to me and gotten Belle's gown instead.

Then we went on the River Cruise and were brought into the jungles of Africa!

We were waiting for Stitch's Summer Parade here and took the opportunity to pose for a picture with the security man.

Dinner time!

We were waiting to catch the Fire works display at Sleeping Beauty's Castle before heading back to the hotel and calling it a day.
