Vainpots at work!

C loves pink!

And the two vainpots did a little shopping (again). Haha!

This time, C requested that Daddy gets a pink shirt to match what we were wearing.

a dose of ballet...

C is currently enjoying a short break from her enrichment classes. She has graduated from Seimpi and Ms Blue will not be conducting lessons these weeks due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.

This video was taken a week ago. C was clearly enjoying her time with Ms Blue. She always receives a sticker from her in class. :)

Ms Blue doesn't look a bit pregnant, does she? We received a letter from her saying that she would be taking her maternity leave from March to June and will be suspending classes during that period.

I haven't broken the news to C but I think she will miss her Ms Blue.

This is a song C learned not too long ago.

a little time on our own...

This evening, Daddy had a wedding dinner to attend so it was just Cheryl and me.

We walked around, did a little shopping and we headed off for dinner.

What makes me happy??

Seeing my Precious enjoying her meal. :)

@ the Science Centre

Daddy thought it would be a wonderful idea to go to the Science Cenre since we had nothing on today. C was excited when she learned where we were going. She hadn't been to the Science Centre and I was telling her about the interesting things she would see.

We caught sight of some students there. The place was pack and just queuing to get tickets took about 20 minutes.

Hmmm...

Daddy was telling C about some of the stuff featured. Science, somehow, never fails to intrigue.

C loved the water play area the most, for obvious reasons. Haha!

a different sort of Christmas!

Instead of the usual feasting, this Christmas was kind of different. :)

We spent the eve at Uncle Vincent's as he had invited carolers to his home to kickstart the Christmas spirits.

It was indeed beautiful and lovely to hear the familiar Christmas carols and to partake in this joyous event.

C with Zinnia and Yeva. Lovely picture I must say. :)

Daddy Dearest with his Precious and Little Darling, Yeva!

A mouth-fill of fishball!

C with her gifts just before bedtime. Thank you for your very-thoughtful presents.

On Christmas itself, we went over to Grand Mummy's. Aunt Juliana had gotten C a Barbie doll house and Daddy bought C her own Mickey Mouse Club House mega blocks. Look, the adults were busy assembling the toys for Precious. I was sure the adults had a lot of fun doing this.

And with the weather so fine, we decided to go to ECP for bicycle ride. Absolutely beautiful!

We were all dressed in red for the festive mood!

A lovely video to share with all!

C loves sushi!

I brought C to Sakae Sushi as she wanted udon for lunch last week and it was a great experience. Today, she requested for udon again and specifically told me she wanted sushi like the last time.

So after completing our shopping , yes, shopping for Christmas is done! We headed for lunch.

Posing with Santa!

C remembered what she had the last time and was eyeing the conveyor belt for the food she had. Then she prompted removed the plate and put in on the table. She saw where I had taken the chopsticks from previously and this time, she behaved like she had been to Sakae umpteen times and knew what to take.

Cheryl enjoyed the sushi a lot! And she wanted to take even more before I stopped her because I was afraid she would not be able to finish her noodles after. She was enjoying her food and then asked, "Mummy why is my noodles taking so long?" Oh, then I told her, I hadn't ordered it. Hee...

Her mini tempura udon set came and she tucked into it immediately.

Cheryl's performance

Cheryl has been preparing for her performance the past several weeks and as the date drew nearer, she kind of got cold feet and insisted on not performing. She would practise but then look at me and say that she did not want to be on stage.

Daddy and I thought that we shouldn't force her and if need be, just pull her out. But then again, being on stage is also a confidence booster and we used another approach. Instead of telling her it was a performance, we just told her to enjoy herself and have fun. I guess "playing" does take the stress out of performing.

The venue where the concert was held. All of us: Aunt Di, Uncle Ben, Aunt Margaret, Grand Daddy and Mummy all came to support our Precious.

We were preparing to get on stage. Aunt Joanne and Keziah were also performing. Teacher Siew Li with pupils from the two classes that she teaches.

The real thing!

The kids on stage for the finale.

C with Teacher Siew Li. She was really proud of the kids and I guess, all of us were too.

After the performance, we were all hungry and invited the Siaws to have dinner together. We were glad they enjoyed the food and the company. Hee :)

Then we went back for dessert. Grand Mummy made these tang yuan and C loved them! She particularly fancied the pink ones.

Class of 2008

This post is long overdue. And it is because I have completed forgotten to collect her class photos.

I think the photo was given out during the last Meet-the-Parents' session before the school closed and because I was unable to go down to meet C's teachers, I wasn't able to collect.

This afternoon, I finally made a trip down to Josiah and her teacher handed me this.

C with all her classmates and her teachers.

Our Precious!

music to my ears...

Uncle Kasey dropped by to tune our piano this afternoon.

When he removed the casing, C was amazed at the interior and hit on the keys to see how the sound was produced. Uncle Kasey thought me how to listen out for the sounds and yes, when the piano was in tune, both of us were nodding our heads.

It may seem like an easy job but you must really have a good ear to do this.

Ice-cream!

Daddy assigned me the task of getting gifts for his 20 plus colleagues so C and I trotted off to find his treasures. haha!

It was hard work because we were clueless about what to get and had to walk around quite a bit before we settled. C had so many opinions about the gifts and many a times, she shook her head when I asked her if the gift was presentable.

When we were done, she was hungry and we headed off to Swenson's for a much-deserved treat.

I am going to miss such lunches with her as the new school term will be starting soon... so for now, let's just indulge a little and enjoy whatever time we have.

I managed to redeem a watch for C from Guardian Pharmacy. C was definitely very pleased and she flashed her new gem when I asked her to pose for the camera. Then she proudly exclaimed that she would wear it to school. :)

I am looking for these! :(

I have been running and scouting around for this pair of Adidas for C.

I used to get her white ones but kids being kids, white shoes don't stay white very long. In fact C's record was barely 5 days. The pair of Fila she wore to Hong Kong only lasted half a day and by the end of the day, one could have easily mistaken her brand new shoes for something she has been wearing for months.

So I have learnt my lesson and decided to get her something more "durable". She wore out her current pair of Adidas in 6 months. I really wonder if she did that much walking. Ha ha!

Okay, I digressed.

This one that I have set my eyes on... well, they are out of stocks! And I have called several outlets and were given the same reply, "We don't have stocks." So there. Guess, I have to start to look for others. :(

Christmas shopping starts...

Usually by this time, most of my shopping for Christmas would have been completed. I don't like crowds and neither do I like to rush but I guess there is always a first time for everything. I only just started shopping and tried my luck down town.

We met Aunt Di who had an errand to run and C was extremely happy to finally meet Aunt Di as she had been away for almost 3 weeks.

Ya, C missed Aunt Di and Uncle Ben.

Hong Kong - 7th to 12th Dec 08 (part 6)

This was our final day in Hong Kong and the night before, as a treat, I allowed C a 30 minute bubble bath! Getting her to take her bath proved to be quite troublesome while we were in Hong Kong because she would exclaim and try to worm her way out by saying that she was still alert and not sleepy yet, or that the weather was too cold although the temperature in the room was aptly set at 25 degrees. But when she saw the huge bath that I had prepared, she ran to Daddy and told him, she NEEDED to bathe NOW.

Another personalised message from Paranoma Hotel:

Yeah, I supposed I wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again if I do get to come to Hong Kong again.

We wanted to try the Airport Express train hence, we took the free shuttle avaliable to Kowloon MTR Station. In the shuttle, Daddy noticed this interesting sign:

On board the Airport Express. It was spacious and clean and very comfy indeed. We found out that we could check in our luggage at the MTR Station itself. How cool is that!!!

We were early and went for breakfast.

And then it was the flight back... .

On our way back, C said, "Bye bye Hong Kong, see you next week!"
Err, I don't think so darling but if she really wanted to see Mickey again, we might consider going. :)
