New Stylist in Town?

Daddy commented that Cheryl's fringe is getting a little too long and the hair is getting into her eyes. The last time, Cheryl went for a hair cut was when Daddy had his. Just a little trim cost us $5 and Daddy was saying maybe we should do it ourselves the next time.

This morning, I thought, "Hmm, why not?" So I put Cheryl on her changing table and got ready the stuff. She was really good and obedient and when I told her to close her eyes, she did just that and she sat really still through out the whole ordeal.

Okay, I got a little big-headed; I am so not qualified to be a stylist. But this is my first attempt! I will get better, I hope.

Baby Nicolette is 1 month old!

Baby Nicolette reaches a milestone today as she turns 1 month old. We were invited to the celebrations and before we made our way there, we, together with our god-daughters, Zinnia and Yeva went for a Barney performance.

Of course, the kids were thrilled to see a real life Barney prancing around on the stage. Unfortunately, there were just too many people and we could not make it close enough to the stage. Nevertheless, we managed to catch the performance much to the children's delight.

While we were there, we happened to see Baby Keziah and Mummy Joanie there. Cheryl jumped at the opportunity to gently caress her!

This is how Baby Nicolette looks like. Isn't she a pretty baby?

We put the babies together and got this shot! Lovely, except for Cheryl, who decided to lift her legs! (shake head)

And look at Daddy! He looked every bit a seasoned and professional Dad as played with Nicolette. He even had her mimicing his mouth!

I save the best for last! Here is a shot of the very pretty Yeva. Mummy Angie's only complaint is "where is her hair?" Give it time, Mummy! There is a time for everything.

My Little Pony... er Unicorn!

I decided to give Cheryl a little treat and bring her to town because I have been very busy at work. Yes, it is the holidays now but I have been going to work almost everyday!

So I thought, "I should give myself a break and Cheryl too." We went to Takashimaya Shopping Centre and this little ride caught our Precious' eyes. She refused to dismount and I literally had to tear her away! She had her eyes on another horse too and when another child so much as went close to it, she growled at him. I can already tell that she has a possessive streak in her!

Okay, then we waited for Daddy to knock off from work. Cheryl was in awed when she saw the cakes! Talk about having a sweet tooth like Daddy.

New Hiding Place!

This is Cheryl’s new hiding place. Actually she has a few; one at her cot, another at the foot of our bed and third, behind the curtains.

Actually the curtains one was introduced by Daddy. Once he hid there and Cheryl could not find him, for the life of me! She was walking around the room and asking “Daddy leh?” But it just didn’t dawn on her that he was behind the curtains. When she found out where he was, there was no turning back.

Now, she will hide there the first thing she wakes up. She will hide there when she hears Daddy opening the door. And she can hide there for quite a few minutes without making any sound. She would not bulge until we say, “Okay, Daddy and Mummy are going out!” and she would come running after us.

I found this video ... it was taken several months ago. Cheryl's hair was not as long yet. But this is routine, I mean, the playing of Hide and Seek. She still loves to have the blanket over her head. Nowadays, we will all lie in bed and sing her favourite songs. She wants Daddy to join in when I sing and she will point to me to join in when Daddy sings. Of course, she will sing along and many a times, we end up laughing because her pronounciation is still not that clear. But we will definitely give her 100 points for effort.

Go, Baby!

She reminds me of someone...

Cheryl reminds me of someone whenever she sleeps ... Grandmummy! This is because Cheryl loves to put her arm under her head when she sleeps. Grandmummy does this too!

Cheryl also likes to sleep on our bed with us. She will wake up in the middle of the night and ask to be put on our bed. Just 2 nights ago, while she was sleeping with us, Daddy and I suddenly heard her called out "Mummy!"

I got up and was wondering where she was. Then I realised that she had slipped into the hole between our bed and her cot. The first time was worse because she woke us up with cries as she had fallen off our bed through a gap!

Today, I have a stiff neck because last night, I put Cheryl in the middle of the bed and she took up a lot of space with her turning and rolling. No wonder she loves our bed; Space! In the morning, the alarm clock woke her up and the first thing she said was, "Daddy leh?" Daddy had gone for his shower.

Another Great Day!

There were so much happening at the Singapore Expo! There was a Food Fest and the Asian Children Festival, Shell Road Safety Exhibition just to name a few. Of course, we headed for the food because one can only fully enjoy himself when the tummy is filled. The place was packed like sardines because apparently, everyone else thought the same! Ha Ha!
Look at the children enjoying the food? Don't you wish you were there too? After the food, we walked around and Zinnia and Jordon went on stage for some games. Zinnia also tried on traditional costumes. She does look like a seasoned model, doesn't she? As for Cheryl, she was busy dancing around on a stage and she was mesmerized with the police cars on display.
After that, we headed down to Orchard Road to look at the Christmas lights. All of us grabbed at every opportunity to put on our best smiles for the camera.
Daddy discovered the technique to take this picture! Usually we never get to see the star at the top of the tree in Takashimaya Shopping Centre because the tree is really huge. And to get that picture perfect shot, Uncle Junming had to literally lie on the floor!
Here is a shot of another very Happy and Great Family! The "Aws"
Daddy showing off his muscles and strength! He has his 2 most important women in his arms and close to his heart! And a picture of us; a nice shot, don't you agree?

Glimpse of the World's Most Powerful Man

Daddy was driving me to work and over the radio, the deejays were announcing some road closure because the President of the U.S.A was leaving Singapore.

We were 2 times lucky because the first time he came to Singapore, we were at Orchard Road and we also caught a flighting sight of his entourage. This time, we were on the Express Way and on the roads at the opposite side, there were hardly any cars and then, Police motorbikes came, followed by many WRXs and finally, the black cars! It was like a scene from the movies!

It must have felt truly grand and majestic to have part of the Express Way closed off so that President George W Bush could pass.

We did not have our camera with us so I used my phone to take this shot. Not very well taken because we were in a moving car and the view was not exactly good. Will upload it at a later time.

After the entourage had passed, we saw the "aftermath" of his presence. The jam he indirectly created was terrible! Police had to hold up the traffic so that he could travel to the airport safely and although it was only for several minutes, cars were jammed bumper to bumper. We were thankful we were on the other direction! Can't imagine how late these people would be for work today. Hmm, can they really tell their bosses, "Oh, I was held up by the President."

Daddy's Little Girl!

Cheryl is definitely a true-blue Daddy's girl.

We have been tucking Cheryl to bed every night and it has become a routine for her to lie between us, and sing some of her favourite songs before she goes to sleep. After she sleeps, then we will get up to do some of our stuff. There were times when she was not asleep yet though we thought she was. Daddy got up, put on his glasses only to have Cheryl turned over and pat his pillow, telling him to get back to bed.

I am trying to teach her some nightly rituals like say good night and kiss us before she sleep. She can say "Night night Daddy" with such astonishing clarity but when it comes to "Night night Mummy", it just sounds like some gibberish then "Mummy". I have to get her to repeat several times before she gets it right.

Of late, whenever I tell her its bath time, she will hide or play Catch with me. But she wants Daddy to bath her. Once I said, "Daddy bathe Cheryl", she automatically tried to remove her clothes after nodding her head furiously. It was really quite hilarious! In the bathroom, she even wanted Daddy to bath together with her. Twice, Daddy relented. Last night, she demanded that Daddy bath her again and Daddy did, in her old bath tub. Guess its true, doing things with Daddy is more fun!

Farm Mart

Uncle Junming came up with this wonderful idea of spending the afternoon at the farm so we headed for the Farm Mart where the children had the first hand experience of feeding goats and fish.

It drizzled a little but the wet weather did not dampen our spirits at all. In fact, the children were amazed with the little creatures they saw. Cheryl saw quails for the first time and the children also stroked a parrot. Children have such brave souls. I am terrified of fowls and rodents! Zinnia wanted to fish so badly so we promised that we would come again. Cheryl, our social butterfly managed to charm an uncle who was doing some prawn-fishing and he even let her hold his rod for that few minutes.

We saw some really nice plants and marine fish and it was educational for both the adults as well as the children.
After that, we headed to Zinnia's and Yeva's grandparents' home for a great and delicious steam boat dinner. I cannot remember when it was the last time we had steam boat dinner. But all the same, it was great because of the company.
Just look at the kids! Would you miss this for anything else in the world?

Daddy, My Hero!

Cheryl suddenly developed a fever yesterday and in the middle of the night, she vomited all over our bed ... again. Daddy was really sweet when he said he would take the day off to tend to Cheryl.

He drove me to work and Cheryl came along too. She slept through most part of the journey but it was at home that Daddy really shone. He played with her, sang to her, bathed her and even managed to put her to bed. Daddy said actually it was rather effortless. He laid on the bed and played with her and as Daddy didn't get enough sleep the night before; he had to change the sheets after Cheryl puked and he didn't go back to sleep immediately. He said he was falling asleep and Cheryl just laid beside him and slept along side.

While she slept, Daddy did the dirty laundry. When she awoke, Daddy just asked her if she wanted to watch tv. She nodded and he told her he was busy so he left the room to handle the housework. Cheryl didn't fuss at all! When she had enough tv, she went to the kitchen where Daddy was. The whole time, she was just a wonderful little girl!

I am so proud of Cheryl and I am even more proud of Daddy!

I love you, Darling and thank you!

Motor Show 2006

Daddy and Cheryl came to pick me up from work today and we went to the Motor Show with Uncle Junming and Aunt Angie. The 2 girls would have gone too if Zinnia had not been ill. Thankfully, Cheryl's fever had subsided and she was able to enjoy the cars as well as the Precision Driving Demostration by Russ Swift.

See Daddy and Uncle Junming doing their own race? It must have been ages since they last "raced" each other. Cheryl initially wanted to be in the driver seat but the blaring music was too loud for her she decided to pass.

Cheryl would not stop "wow-ing" at these magnificent looking cars! She had to pose with it! Then there was this car which was so cute, we could not resist... Can you believe it? There are no locks and to start this car, you just press a button. I had to hold on to the steering wheel because it was held up with double-sided tape. Ha ha ha!

Here are more of the very beautiful and stunning cars. Pay no attention to the models. They won't move away and honestly, their presence did not do justice to the cars.
Here is a clip of Russ Swift's precision driving talent. Daddy took many videos but I will just give you a sample. Go catch the action yourself!

I thought the noise generated would be deafening and that Cheryl would be afraid but she enjoyed the show and even clapped alongside with the rest of the spectators.

Another Sun-filled day!

Aunt Angie, Uncle Junming and the 2 girls finally got to join us at the Club for swimming. I shan't say too much; will let the pictures do the talking.

Cool Slideshows

The place sure knows how to bring out the kid in all of us. Both Daddies were great taking care of the children until they went on the Tower Slide. Uncle Junming, after his first time on the slide with Zinnia actually told her that he would go up alone to "try" to stay on the float after being ejected. Both of them went underwater because of the high pressure and Zinnia was a little scared.

Then the 2 Daddies literally ran up the stairs of the Tower Slide. Talk about being young again! Cheryl went on the slide with Daddy too and the whole time, she was clinging onto him and holding on to dear life.

We should do this again! It was so much fun just watching them!

Zinnia turns 4!

Our God Daughter, Zinnia turns 4 today! And as usual, she was dressed to kill. The little tribal girl was extremely excited and many a times, during the playing of games, she tried to get Cheryl involved. Cheryl is too young to play Charade but Zinnia was sweet enough to try to get Cheryl to join in.

Aunt Angie had everything planned... There was even a tattoo-painting station. Initially no one knew how to stick the tattoos on to the children till Daddy discovered that he had to submerge the entire sticker in water and vola! Cheryl had a star on her hand and Zinnia had a butterfly on her arm.

There was even a pinata for the children! All thanks to Aunt Angie's very creative friend who handmade the cute looking Hello Kitty Pinata and paper mache. The Hello Kitty cake that we got for Zinnia was lovely though the delivery man gave us quite a scare. It was already 7 pm and the birthday cake was nowhere in sight. We were on our way out to buy another cake when he called. But thankfully, the cake arrived safely.

You can see the mad scramble for goodies that fell out of the pinata. Cheryl was too young to be in there with the kids so she stood a distance away. But that did not mean she was left empty-handed. Some of the goodies, toys "rolled" out and she was just standing there and picking whatever. Quite smart!

By the end of the Party, all of us were exhausted! When you have so many children together at one time, somehow these kids developed boundless amount of energy and they were running around and playing. Daddy and I wanted to catch the Manchester United match on tv. But we couldn't even last till half time. That was how tired we were.

A New Toy... for Daddy & Mummy

Hey, this is our new toy! Daddy got us a new camera yesterday and it was very timely because our little God-daughter, Zinnia just turned 4.
Happy Birthday, Zinnia!
Now we are back in action! I will upload the pictures when I have more time... We are going swimming with Uncle Junming, Aunt Angie and the 2 little girls soon.
