Standing tall ... trying to though...

Cheryl is strong enough to support herself and stand now. But she is still rather unstable and can be wobbly. Daddy says she is doing the Ricky Martin's dance "Shake your bon bon!"
See the seriousness in her face? "This is tough business, Daddy!"

But I am worried that she might end up with bowed legs because they are not really to support her full weight. I try to massage her legs every now and then and stop her from being on her feet for too long.

Cheryl wants Breasts!

I have been thinking that it is time to maybe wean Cheryl off nursing so I started giving her formula milk in a bottle for her last feed before bedtime. So far, it has been a tug-of-war. She would drink 30 ml and then cry for my breasts! Other nights, she started screaming the moment she saw the bottle. Now, she has even learned to use her hands to push the bottle away.
As for me, its been an emotional ride because I love that Cheryl prefers me over the bottle. I guess its the bonding we share at that very moment. Yet, I know I cannot do this forever. It will be very painful for her too. I am still trying and wasting milk because she still has her moods.

Finally, a chance to show that bikini off...

We brought Cheryl to Malacca. At last, we had a chance to bring her to the pool again. I bought the bikini so long ago... I think I bought it more than a month ago. Was wondering if she would outgrow the costume because it was S size.

Potty Time!

Cheryl has been trained to poo before she takes a dip in the bath so it is only natural that the next step is to get her to do it in a potty. She has been successful several times. Daddy was helping her this time. From the state of her hair, you can tell that she just got out of bed!

Maybe Cheryl can be the next poster girl for toothpaste

I have been cleaning Cheryl's gums and tongue daily so I thought it would be good to finally introduce her to the thing we all know as toothbrush.
Her eyes lit up and she happily opened her mouth to let me brush her gums. She even progressed to holding it herself.
When is the first tooth going to cut through?

A Little Momento

I could leave for work a little later than usual because it was Marking Day (18th, 19th Oct) and Cheryl was thrilled to see that Daddy and Mummy were in when she opened her eyes. She smiled her brightest and could not stop cooing.
... It did not stop there. She pooed and while I was changing her, she let out more and some got onto my jeans! Daddy warned me that she was not done...
Haha I am not complaining... at least I brought a little something of her to work.

Pa pa?

Cheryl is "talking" a lot these days and making lots of noises. In her gibberish, something sounded vaguely like "pa pa" so you can imagine how Daddy's eyes lit up! He may say, "No lah, she doesn't even know what she is saying." But I can tell that he is ecstatic!

I read that babies do say "pa pa" first. I guess its their way of making up... Daddy Chris was a little disheartened that Cheryl did not take to him initially. But now, when Daddy steps out of the room or goes out of her sight, she will whine in protest.

I think we should start a log or something ...

After considering and re-considering, I have decided that we should start a blog to record our thoughts and happenings with our precious, Cheryl. Least when our memories fail us, there is this which Cheryl can hold dear.

Taste of Real Porridge!

I prepared porridge for Cheryl and I must say, I was rather proud of myself! She enjoyed the food as much as I enjoyed preparing it.

She even drank from the training cup! The first time for her too.. although there was more chewing than drinking.

Mummy, I can sit on my own now!

Cheryl is now strong enough to sit without being supported. These are some of the wonderful shots I managed to take. One even has her drooling!
But her smiles are very contagious because I was having so much fun!
